Harry Potter 30 Day Challenge, Day 2

Day 2: Least Favorite Book

My first thought is Goblet of Fire, because there’s no Quidditch, and sadly my hate for the movie version has made me feel less inclined to read it again (I’ve already read it three or four times, but I’ve read the others more than that one.)

But then, when I think about the Order of the Phoenix, I just think that throughout the book Harry is sooo angry all the time at everybody, and that and Umbridge put together really did make me either annoyed or angry, depending on the scene. But you have to give credit to JK Rowling- she created a character that you not only hate in the movie version, but you despise in the books. She annoyed the hell out of me whenever a paragraph with her in it came up. I loved the part when Mcgonagall would ignore her “hem hem”s, and especially Harry’s career advise meeting-thing. That scene should have been in the movie.

So I’d say it’s a solid tie between the Goblet of Fire and the Order of the Phoenix.

Doctor Who 30 Day Challenge, Day 30

Day 30: When Did You Become A Fan of Doctor Who?

Do you really want to ask me that? It’s a long story…

Well, the actual date was October 10, 2011. I only know that because I know I found out what Doctor Who was two days before my PSAT, which was October 12th. I’m just good at remembering weird dates, okay?

Anyway, I was on deviantart, looking at Harry Potter stuff. And then I came across this picture:

Here’s the link: http://oreoeddie.deviantart.com/favourites/50648743#/d45lwka

Now, I knew from one of those weird-type memories (you know, the hazy type from when you were little that you just randomly remember?) that my mom had said that my dad used to watch a show called Doctor Who when he was younger (doing the math, I guess it would be the 5th or 6th doctor). But I didn’t actually know what the show was about.

So, ever since I was little, I thought that Doctor Who was a show about a bunch of mad scientists with a machine. I had never seen an episode before.

When I saw this picture, I decided to go to wikipedia and read up on what doctor who was, because I had no idea who the picture was of and wanted to find out. I just thought it was three of the mad scientists. Eventually, after hours of youtube clips and different fan sites, I thought I understood it. I went to the itunes store and bought “The Eleventh Hour”. I thought the atraxi were stupid looking, but I thought the show was cool enough. Then, I bought some of the tenth doctor’s episodes. And I was hooked. I spent over fifty dollars on itunes cards just to buy more David Tennant episodes. I know, you’re probably thinking, “Just watch it on TV!”, but I live in America and don’t get BBC America. If I want to watch anything off that channel, I have to buy it or try to find it on youtube or netflix.

But anyway, that is the story of how I found out what Doctor Who really was, and became a fan.

AND since this is Day 30, this marks the end of my Doctor Who 30 day challenge!

Doctor Who 30 Day Challenge, Day 24

Day 24: Favorite Quote

“Don’t blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don’t turn your back. Don’t look away. And don’t blink. Good luck.”

OR

“I’m the Doctor. I’m a Time Lord. I’m from the planet Gallifrey in the Constellation of Kasterborous. I’m 903 years old and I’m the man who is gonna save your lives and all 6 billion people on the planet below. You got a problem with that?”

Day 23: Favorite Doctor Who Spinoff

Yikes… I really haven’t watched the Sarah Jane spinoff, and I’ve only seen one episode, the first one, of Torchwood. It was free on Itunes and I couldn’t resist downloading it. I’m not sure I realllllllly liked it, but it was okay. Maybe the following episodes were better, but I wouldn’t know. What I do think is awesome is that there is a road a few minutes away from my house named “Torchwood Road”. I promise I’ll get a picture of it and upload it so you all can see it :D. I honestly had never cared about that road before I started watching Doctor Who, and now everytime I drive past it I’m like:
